The ledger.
The short list from the shop’s book: every machine graded a five, typed up straight from the records. Fives are the easy ones. Sound machines that need hours on the bench, not weeks, so the one that catches your eye can be cleaned, adjusted, and in your hands quickly. See a make you grew up with, or a color you didn’t know they made? Ask. Any of these can go on the bench next.
- ***** · Charlie’s bench grade, struck in asterisks. Everything on this page earned all five.
- *****+ · better than the scale goes. The prize pieces.
- blue tags · rare birds: italic, cursive, Vogue, Braille, foreign keyboards. Worth asking about by name.
Serial numbers come straight off the machines, exactly as the shop’s book has them. Names print the way the factory spelled them wherever the site knows the difference, because the book gets typed fast at the bench. The search box answers to either spelling. The book is alive; machines come and go between visits, and the rest of it (a couple hundred more machines in every state of repair) lives at the shop. If one on this page has your name on it, send a work order or call (682) 593-7071 before someone else does.
